Rialto fish market

If you look carefully at this building, you may notice that the style of its sculptures doesn’t seem so medieval. In fact, it’s been rebuilt after a world war one bombing. Still, the style is just perfect to match the surrounding buildings.

It’s early afternoon. Market is finished. The floor has been washed. No more fish. Nobody left…

The sunlight comes through the old curtains. The resulting light is red inside the building. The wet floor reflects the brightness of the curtains. Unfortunately, the city council changed these curtains for new items hold well in place between aluminium bars…

Exit the thin steel bars… no more drape… no more colored light… This is called progress…

At least, this painting will stay as a reminder of a so shortly bygone age…

Only warm colors. Cadmium Red, Burnt Umber, Yellow Ocre… Black and White.
