San Michele island is the cemetery of Venice. Here is its southern wall, where the main entrance (no more used today) sits, facing the city.
Used to see this wall lit by a warm sun, i was attracted by the dim light of this late grey afternoon. More mystery… The cypresses disappear at the background…
As colors and contrasts disappear around San Michele island, i decided to underline only the foreground with darker darks, to give depth… Just in front of me, two boats have crossed each other, drawing V shape waves that checker the water surface.
